Confident Trust

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth (removing obstacles that block your way).

This is one of the most comforting scriptures of wisdom in the Holy Word of God. I cannot count the number of times the precious Holy Spirit has whispered and reminded me to trust Him in difficult or complicated situations and circumstances. Trusting God is surely not always a walk in the park. Some instances are easy to reliquish to Him and other cirmustances much more difficult to completely surrender  to Him.  The ones we find hard to reliquish to Him are the very areas where we need to pay attention and ask His grace to completely surrender.

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust Him. ( Psalm 18:30)

Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies

(Psalm 27:11).

King David clearly writes the psalms from revelation and His experience on His own journey of walking with God which is helpful for us as we  navigate  to our own journeys. There were many paths and ways available for him to take like it is with us today, but He had acknowledged that the Lord’s path, was best.

But how does one really get to that place of total trust and complete surrender to God’s way, to His plan?

In my own journey I can say it began with cultivating a personal relationship with God. It is not easy to trust someone whom you don’t know well. Trust in its purest form is only possible  where there is real relationship. Who is this that i am recklessly surrendering and abandoning myself, my plans and life to? What is His track record? As you cultivate the relationship, it grows from strength to strength and along the way trusting Him is not hard work, it is not something you have to fight so hard to do. It becomes natural. With each step on the journey of relationship with God, we learn about His loving kindness, His goodness, His faithfulness and how reliable He is. As we witness His nature in our individual journey with Him, trusting becomes easier. It is a life long journey we are on with Him. So be real with yourself and with God. Openly tell Him your shortcomings and failure to trust Him and ask His help in the area.

God’s way is the perfect one, undisputed, time and time again tested as we read in His word with the saints gone before us and from the testimonies in our own lives and those of other saints around us. Yet choosing His way does not come easy for us. We usually shun it because we see it as the longer route, the hard route ; with more obstacles than we would like to encounter.

Friends, remember that He has an overview of the scenario and paths available that we don’t because He is God. He knows us much more than we even know ourselves because He is the creator. His path will not only lead to  the fulfillment of His purpose for your life but will contribute to the character formation necessary to sustain you as your accomplish it.    Relationship with God affirms that all things are working together for those who love Him and are called  according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for being GOD ; all knowing and all seeing. Help us to trust your way and to walk in it. Help our unbelief and strengthen our faith in you.
